Children will need to recognise how important it is to be an active bystander in reporting bullying. Parents can help by encouraging children to talk about what is happening at school, in their neighbourhoods, on the bus, etc. Be a good active listener and avoid passing judgement. Allow your child to have the air time to share their experiences and enable them to feel safe in their sharing. After which you can take the necessary follow-up actions.
